Pre-Order & Refund Terms

These terms govern your reservation for the portable forced-air fire starter (the “Product”), offered on thefirestarterdude.com under the brand “The Fire Starter Dude.” In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of thefirestarterdude.com, identified in the “Who operates this site” section below. By placing a reservation, you agree to these terms.

1. What a reservation is. A reservation places a temporary $5.00 authorization hold on your card to confirm your interest. The hold is never charged — no money is transferred. It may appear as “pending” on your statement and is released automatically (typically within about 5–7 days). Our payment processor (Stripe) handles the hold; we do not store your full card number.

2. The 500-backer goal. We collect reservations to confirm demand. Our goal is 500 reservations.

• If we reach 500: we will invite you by email to complete your purchase of the Product at the full price shown at checkout, through a separate checkout. Your $5 hold is released.
• There is no fixed deadline. Reservations stay open until we reach 500. If we ultimately decide not to proceed, you are never charged and there is nothing to refund, because no payment is ever taken for a reservation.

3. Completing your purchase. If we reach 500, we’ll email you a link to purchase at the full price. If you choose not to complete the purchase, you simply will not receive the Product — there is no obligation, and nothing is charged for the reservation.

4. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to place a reservation or make a purchase. If you are under that age, you may use this site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

5. Canceling your reservation. You may walk away any time before completing a purchase; because the $5 hold is never a charge, there is nothing to cancel or refund. To have your information removed, email contact@thefirestarterdude.com.

6. Refunds (after you purchase at full price). If you complete the full-price purchase, it is refundable until the Product ships — email contact@thefirestarterdude.com to request a refund before shipment. If we are ever unable to deliver the Product after you’ve paid, we will refund you in full. A return policy for shipped product will be published before shipping.

7. Delivery. The Product is in development. We do not promise a specific delivery date. Production begins after we reach 500 backers, and we will keep purchasers updated by email; any timeline we share is a non-binding estimate.

8. Changes. We may update these terms; the version in effect when you act governs. Material changes are posted on thefirestarterdude.com.
